Course: The Literature of George Sand

  Rio de Janeiro, July 1, 2026 – George Sand’s Birthday George Sand is fascinating.  She was the central figure of Module II of the "Initiation to Feminism" course (link: International Feminist School: Course of Initiation to Feminism ) for a simple reason: she was the most important woman of the first half of the 19th century; in the second half, she perhaps shares that distinction with Queen Victoria.  She was a writer whose striking personality provoked praise and criticism—never indifference.
